Friday finds #6 — tools and links for your weekend

Last week's finds were of the spooky variety. This week it's a mix of handy tools and a couple of more leisurely discoveries, including a lovely little weather app.

Yesterday

Yesterday is a simple iPhone app that tells you the day's weather relative to the previous day. If you’ve ever wished you could scroll into the past on your weather app of choice to calibrate it for future, then this is for you.

Purge

Purge is a free and open-source cleaner for the Mac. It finds the junk files that pile up. Things like app caches, leftover files, etc. and sends it to the Trash, so you can put anything back if you need to. I haven't given it a proper run yet, but it's refreshing to see an app in this space that's free and open source.

Footnotes

An iPhone notebook for photos, voice notes and half-finished thoughts. You can make your own notebooks, and share a note as a card if it turns out to be meant for someone else. It looks rather lovely.

Tinycast

Tinycast looks like a really well made launcher (Raycast alternative) for the Mac. It’s a way to get to your apps, clipboard history, snippets, and windows from the keyboard. It's free and open source, with no account and no tracking.

Kooler

And for the weekend: Kooler is a cocktail recipe app (and website) where you pick the bottles you already have at home and it shows you what you can make. It’s actually been around for years and I can’t believe I haven’t come across it before.

I hope you like these, and if you see any apps I should try, please let me know.

Enjoy the bonfire filled weekend!
